My name is Linda Davis and I am the owner of Seams Rite, Inc.
I learned the art of hand sewing, embroidery and crocheting from my Grandmother and Mother at a very young age. I learned to machine piece garments on a Singer treadle sewing machine and then for my 16th birthday my parents gave me an electric sewing machine and as the saying goes “The rest is history”.
In the early 1980 after years of sewing for myself and other people, while trying to find a way to stay at home and still help with our family income a very close friend and mentor (Marlene Sinkler) talked me into starting a sewing business. With my love of fabric and sewing it was an easy decision. So in 1989 Seams Rite Sewing became an official business and then in 2001 , we incorporated to become Seams Rite, Inc.
Over the past years I have done all different types of custom sewing, from lingerie to wedding gowns. A few years ago I decided to mostly do formal wear and alterations. Occasionally a piece of lingerie gets thrown in the mix. In 1997 I took a class in quilt making and have since added this skill to my list of endeavors. I have also started teaching clothing construction and beginning quilting. I truly love to be able to turn someone else onto this craft.
